If you need help applying makeup or want to learn good techniques go to a MAC counter if you have one near. Am I too late to start Professional Tennis?

I'm not boasting or anything, but I play tennis as a recreational sport and I know most of the basics, rules, etc. and can hit the tennis ball pretty quick. I do believe I've got "natural talent" as they say cus I've seen beginners and intermediates who play tennis and honestly, I could very well beat them instantly. I want to take lessons and I'm willing to work really really hard. I know my parents are willing to homeschool me if I would want to take tennis seriously. I'm 17 - do you think it's too late to start playing tennis professionally? three weeks ago on the 8th my boyfriend and i were messing around and he ended up getting pre-*** on his fingers and then touched me down there. On Saturday the 18th i got what i thought was my period. I had extremly bad cramps , my skin broke out, and i was kind of bloated. It stopped sunday night which is really weird for me because theyre usually 4-6 days long. I had light spotting on monday and tuesday. My friend suggested to take a pregnancy test so i took one on that wednesday the 22, which was 2 weeks from the wednesday when my bf was over. It came back negative. The same incident between my bf and i happend again the past tuesday the 28 which was day 11 of my cycle. I took a pregnancy test just now to see what it'd say and it was one of the ones with blue dye..the control screen had a really thick blue line on it and the positive screen had a really really realllyy thin, faint blue line.(could this be false or could it be true?)I havent gained weight Ive actually lost 2 pounds, i dont have morning sickness, and im not sensitive to any smells. Yesterday last night and today i woke up with weird discharge on my underwear. it was really dark and ive had two tampons in since and theyve all had the dark brown discharge and some blood. im having slight cramps atm, too. I am a competitive figure skater and fall alot (on my back or knee mostly) I skate 25+ hours a week. Ive taken some pretty nasty falls in the past couple weeks too.

When businesses that are just barely scraping by have their taxes raised, it could potentially force them to declare bankruptcy, thus having to layoff all their employees, and make their industry that less competitive. Question for parents of teen age boys only please.?

My son is almost 15 years old. He is a good kid, involved in 3 competitive sports, has good friends from good families but.... he and his friends have started to try alchol. It started about 7 months ago to the best of my knowledge. Another factor here is that his dad committed suicide about 18 months ago. Now I know this is not a reason to do what he is doing because the other boys are not in his situation and are doing it. He swore to me the last time he was caught that he had stopped. He will tell me when his friends do it and that they need to make better choices. I thought things had changed with him until yesterday when I found a small airline size bottle in our trash can. He had friends over the day before and swore that it wasnt his that it must have been one of the other boys. We went back and forth for several hours about if he was still doing it. Finally he said that he had done it a few more times since he had told me he stopped. How do I deal with this? He is in counseling and I know that it is a peer pressure thing that he has to learn to deal with but it is tearing me up inside...he is better than this. Its not every day or even every week, I keep a pretty tight reign on him. I'm glad he finally confessed and was honest with me but I'm not sure how much more I can control his life without keeping him on lock down and not allowing others into our home. I don't have any alcohol in my house anymore due to this very reason. Someone brought it with them. Any advice would be great!

Will I gain weight if i binge for one day and not exercise on that day?

Although I'm 106 pounds, i look normal and healthy not skinny looking or emaciated (i'm 5'8). I play handball for my school team and we basically train everyday for about 2 hours or more. If we dont train for a whole week, I'll jog instead for 30-45 minutes at least 4 times a week. I eat about 500-700 calories daily and I always control myself to not consume a lot of calories.. is it okay to binge eat once a week and not exercise on that day? I'll usually feel kinda fat if i do that.. Today is my binge day.. i guess. I ate roti canai this morning, about 300 calories of food for lunch, a blueberry muffin, 7 2-inch milk bars and a drink box of soy milk. Will I gain weight?

Why don't people think cheerleading (or at least Allstar/ Competitive cheerleading) is a sport?

I think, no scratch that, I KNOW that cheerleading is a sport! You have to tumble, dance, be super flexible, lift people up, etc to be a cheerleader! Also, cheerleaders are tough! I'm a base, and I get hit all the time by my fliers and I just keep on going. All bases are like that. Once I got kicked in the neck and I just ignored it! Also, most, if not all cheerleaders are not like the stereotypes. Everyone thinks that cheerleaders are just slutty girls in skimpy outfits that run around and shout annoyingly with pompoms at football games, and then they go bang the football players. That's SO not true! Cheerleaders aren't stupid or slutty. I'd say it's much harder than some "sports" like golf, NASCAR, or bowling. So, with that being said, how could anyone NOT think that cheerleading is a sport?

Sure. The way you put it you should have no problem, especially with the masters background. Don't just tell the graduate committee how you plan to be a scholar at their university, show them. When (not if) you land an interview or candidate interview show the graduate committee what you have learned through your master's program. Hopefully your master's was a thesis based due to the shear backup power on knowledge you will have, and tell them how you are going to use what you have learned and performed scholastically to the next level. If you are going in for your Ph.D. really think about how you are going tell them the directions you are heading or plan to head. If you have had the opportunity in working on a thesis tell the committees how you are committed to academic excellence in your field and specialty. Tell them something that isn't a cookie cutter version of every other student that has passed in front of them, most importantly express interest in the program but don't be too over zealous. ok next year i am going to be a sophomore in highschool and i am considering not doing the competitive sports anymore. During middle school i was involved in sports and i was pretty good at them but now since high school sports started they are way too serious and are not fun for me anymore. Question about ice skate's blades?

I just got my new ice skates yesterday, but it came with these screws for the blade. They didn't provide any instructions fir how to do it, but on the bag it stated to insert the safety screws on the blade after final adjustment? three weeks ago on the 8th my boyfriend and i were messing around and he ended up getting pre-*** on his fingers and then touched me down there. On Saturday the 18th i got what i thought was my period. I had extremly bad cramps , my skin broke out, and i was kind of bloated. It stopped sunday night which is really weird for me because theyre usually 4-6 days long. I had light spotting on monday and tuesday. My friend suggested to take a pregnancy test so i took one on that wednesday the 22, which was 2 weeks from the wednesday when my bf was over. It came back negative. The same incident between my bf and i happend again the past tuesday the 28 which was day 11 of my cycle. I took a pregnancy test just now to see what it'd say and it was one of the ones with blue dye..the control screen had a really thick blue line on it and the positive screen had a really really realllyy thin, faint blue line.I havent gained weight Ive actually lost 2 pounds, i dont have morning sickness, and im not sensitive to any smells. Try and understand why she says what she says. Maybe shes upset about the slippers because you leave footprints everywhere and that may upset her (it upsets many people). The basketball thing... maybe because she sees you playing video games all the time she tells you to play basketball so you have something to keep you occupied. Yes handball can keep you occupied but basketball is a team sport that has practices and is more of a commitment, which is most likely why she suggests that. Play your xbox or whatever when she is not home to keep you entertained but an hour before she comes home from work try doing one of the chores she asks of you so it looks like your trying to be helpful and she wont notice youve actually been playing xbox all day. And it sounds like she breaks all your **** because she is under the impression that you only play xbox so she doesnt want that anymore. Can I get into Boston University with no AP classes?

It is my dream school but I am not sure I can get in. My school is a top public school in my state and has a very rigorous curriculum. I took mostly honors classes and have a 3.7 weighted GPA. I didn't take any AP classes because my teachers or guidance counselor didn't recommend any for me. It was a struggle to get the A's and B's I did get with the honors classes. To give you an idea of how competitive my high school is, even with my grades and GPA I barely made the top 35%. I did get a decent SAT score, 1850. I also made it into the National Honor Society, I have danced competitively with my dance studio for many years and have been a volunteer student teacher in some of the smaller kids classes for a few years. I also play the violin and have been a member of the orchestra all 4 years. I have other various volunteer hours through my church and a teen organization.

You need to re-take the SAT or ACT and study for it. Work on your essays for entrance. When you get out of college you will be competing for jobs, so you had better get used to it.

It's almost a month since I started working out and such. I lost 2 kg only. I'm tired of counting calories and I hate it when people around me start choosing food for me, its like I CAN'T EAT ANYTHING AT ALL, except fruits and veg. I'm so sick of it. I eat much less than ever now but never skipped any meals. I'm taking this really seriously.. I swear. I'm fifteen and I'm a girl, weighing 134 pounds and I'm 5 feet 4 inches. I'm not fat, I'm slightly chubby. I want to lose weight because I want to look smaller, I have a large body frame and I wanna have smaller thighs too. I'm really active in sports (softball, basketball, badminton, handball, table tennis), I love sports a lot but sometimes I get tired of it, I feel like I'm obsessed with exercising or something. I feel guilty and often worried about the food I consume. So sometimes I end up doing guilty exercises to 'punish' myself even when I'm really really tired after coming back from school. Now I attend fitness classes twice a week (1 hour). It's kind of nice and I feel really good after exercising. My major exam is 3 months away, so I'm stressed right now. I need to get straight A's and wants lose weight at the same time. What do I do now? :(

Whats wrong with my knees how can i fix them do i need surgery?

Im only 23 im 6 foot 180 pounds the first time i messed up my knee was when i poped my left knee out doing pushups but i poped it back in and it healed fully by 2 months later.I lift weights and would do squats lunges and deadlifts and least 1 day a week and i was always running around and jumping around and playing sports.I banged the sides of my knees into weight benches alot in a tiny little weight room i use to workout in.and also when playing handball i twisted my knee if you know what i mean the only way i can explain it is my knee twisting from a suudden movement tried to make and it twisted and wa spain and was really messed up after that and would always be stiff it would heal a little then i would play football and stiffen and mess it up again.both my kness are a little messed up my left is much worst though if i try to stretch my left leg and lift my left leg up behing my but and pull my foot all the way back into my but i cant pull it all the way because of tension and pain in knee.somedays will be worst then others some days my knees will be more stiff some days their fell almost 100% which are not very much days.for example if i grab a ball and take a couple steps and throw it powerfullyas far as i can usually unless my knees are really good that day ill get a shooting pain in my left knee when i release it.I cant still run and play sports and still deadlift 400 pounds but im not 100% and somedays my kness will be really stiff especially if i have to sit in a small car bunch up in back seat.if i play tackle football the following days my knees will be reallyy stiff and sore.i do stretches toe touches and sit flat down and reach my toes which gives you that burning felling in your knees but i dont think these help.my right knee aint that bad but left can be pretty bad is their any way i can fix this without surgery

The number one thing i advise is not too rush back to strenuous activity after a fracture. Let your body heal, the bone will be weak you don't want to re-injure yourself straight away. It take around 6 to 8 weeks for a bone to reform to its original strength, (depending on the severity of the fracture etc.) You are young so you should be back training soon, just don't rush recovery as I said.

practice with your partner a lot, but don't forget to have a good rest and some food in your body before the match. Also, if your partner has played before, get some tips from them. Know what your competitor has over you, and try to find a way to not let them stop you. With our class, all the boys and girls do the exact same, except one time we got to play basketball because the girls had to go into the gym for testing, but it was opted that way because the girls didn't want to be around guys because we were testing weight and height, which is understandable. If it's coed P.E that means you are taught TOGETHER and right now you're being segregated because of who you are, which is not allowed. Sports are becoming too stressful?

ok next year i am going to be a sophomore in highschool and i am considering not doing the competitive sports anymore. During middle school i was involved in sports and i was pretty good at them but now since high school sports started they are way too serious and are not fun for me anymore. During my freshman year i played football and lacrosse. The practice scheduel made me exhausted and after practice i had no motivation to study or do homework because i was too tired. This caused my grades to go down. Im thinking about playing in the non competitive sport leagues run within the school instead of trying out for the jv/varsity teams. I use to be 16mm im now 8 as im getting older i just thought it would be more suitable LOL. I had no problems only if i stretched them to quick and when they happened depending on how bad or hurtful it was i would put the smaller one back in and let it heal completely and start again as its not putting any strain on it . Just be sure to clean it Thoroughly and try not to touch or catch it on anything so it can heal!!

Clinical Psychology--a dead field? Worth it?

Hi everyone, I'm a 19 year old girl living in Brooklyn, NY and I just finished my first year of college. Growing up, I was always the kind, sensitive, empathetic classmate and friend that was usually the first person people went to when they were having troubles, having a bad day, needed advice, etc. I was always an overachiever, studied my brains out in HS and was a straight A+ student. I sincerely enjoy working with people one on one and for as long as I can remember I always wanted to be a clinical psychologist...it just seemed like the perfect fit for me, something I'd enjoy for the rest of my life and feel satisified with. However, I've been researching lately about the psychology field, and, in addition to what many ppl have told me....it's kind of a dead field to go into. Unless you're aiming for the PsyD or PhD degree, you won't go that far. Yes, I know Social Work is an option too but it doesnt pay well (I'm not doing it for the money but obviously I would like to make a decent salary) It's a very competitive, hard field to get into and the 5 to 8 yrs of doctorate schooling really make menervous as well...I don't know if I can handle it. I just can't picture myself only in my late 20's finally finishing school and supporting myself. I heard about a new degree called LMHC--Licensed Mental Health Counsleor, they do a lot of what psychologists do and it's only 2 yrs master's program but I think the pay is about the same as social work...Again, it's not about the money for me, but in a way it is...Like I said I was always a dedicated, studious, hard worker and I excelled in all my subjects. I've just been told a lot that I'm "selling myself short" and not pushing myself hard enough, not being ambitious enough when I can reach for something higher. So basically my question is 1) Is psychology still a good field to go into? (decent pay, demand for jobs) 2) What do u guys know about the LMHC degree and 3) Should I just push myself and reach for the stars, aka go for a doctorate? I know this is kinda all over the place, but anything will help me at this point, thanks in advance :)

Considering you burned more than you ate, yes, you will definitely lose weight. That's not even considering how many calories your body burns naturally. Great job. That's probably closer to too much running than anything else. You might want to consider adding some weight lifting to your program though.

I really want to run but I don't want injuries, any advice?

I used to run quite a bit (not in any real competitive way but) but I stopped about a year ago. I started it back up by running 3K every morning for the past week (run 5, rest 2, run 10, rest 2 etc.) and it's been pretty killer on my muscles. I stretch before and after for at least 10 minutes, I do a warm up and I eat the appropriate post-run and pre-run foods but they're still pretty achy. I notice that even if my muscles are sore in the morning but I push through my 3K anyway that they don't hurt as much after about 5 minutes and they only start to get sore an hour or so later. Anyways it's about 8:30pm over here and I really wanna go for a 30-40 minute run but I'm wondering if that might be over doing it seeing as my muscles are still adjusting and recovering?

I'm a fifteen year old girl. It has been two weeks since I started to eat less/healthier and exercise a lot. I climb stairs, play handball/basketball, badminton (competitive), jogging and walking. Yes, I do feel a lot thinner, I'm dropping sizes but I have only lost 1 kg on the first week, my weight remains the same on the second week. My friends said I'm a lot thinner now. I weigh 136lbs now and I'm 5 feet 4. It surprised me that I weigh more than my 'fatter' friends, maybe it's the muscles (I play a lot of sports all the while, I'm pretty active). I'm not denying but I'm not fat, I just want to be thinner and have a smaller size body. I have broad shoulders so people call me 'big-sized'. think about...my nuclear family... I'm a single guy who's in his late 30s who's been working mostly as a temp the past several years, but the assignments have dried up pretty much, due to the economy and outsourcing.. I'm living presently at my Dad's house.. part of me wants to just get out of NY altogether ... it's expensive to live here..and I'm just in general dissatisfied with how far I've gone in life.. I don't know why, but I think if I moved out westward, things would fall into place - I'd land a decent job (the pay may be lower, but possibly comfortable), jump start my dating scene - who knows, maybe find a girlfriend who'll eventually marry me - the perpetual bachelor idea kind of freaks me out at this point..and be all in all much happier. Back to my nuclear family - this consists of my Dad and younger brother - he's entering his late 30s now and also single. My Dad's short-term memory is somewhat slowing down.. there were times when he locked himself out of his house, and thanks to me being around and out of work, I was able to help him get back in. I worry about him. My brother started a new time-demanding office job, and we're proud of him. At the same time, he's not that available to help out my Dad, as he'd like. And we don't hold that against my bro at all.. I'm pleased that he's doing well (he was out of work prior to that too for awhile) and wish him much success. I don't know guys and gals - should I consider the move out (this would be risky since I don't have any opportunities waiting for me) or stick around here? I'm not boasting or anything, but I guess I do have "natural talent" as they say as I've been playing tennis for the past 7 years (more or less) as a recreational sport and know most of the rules, basics, etc. It wasn't until last year that I felt like I should start taking tennis lessons and play more seriously (I've always wanted to take tennis but never felt the need to urge my parents to send me to lessons).
